Time line therapy is a powerful technique that can help you to release negative emotions and change negative patterns of behaviour.  ⌛

It is based on the principle that we store our memories in a time line, which is a representation of our life experiences. This time line can be thought of as a continuum, with positive experiences at one end and negative experiences at  the other.

Time line therapy can help you to release negative emotions such as anger, sadness, fear and guilt that are associated with past experiences. It can also help you to change negative patterns of behaviour, such as procrastination, self-sabotage and perfectionism.

Time line therapy is a powerful tool that can help you  to create a better future for yourself.

The technique usually involves a trained practitioner, who uses a variety of techniques including hypnosis and neuro-linguistic programming.  Clients are asked to close their eyes and imaging a time in the past that is relevant to the challenge they are experiencing.  

The practitioner encourages the client to emerge themselves in what they are imagining using all of their senses to make it as real as possible, and talks them through a range of scenarios to bring different thoughts and emotions to mind.

One of the things this therapy is great for is going back to memories that have caused suffering and pain, to re-experience them from a different perspective emerging with different beliefs.   For example, if a child has an experience where they believe they were unlovable, this method encourages them to perceive what happened in a different way e.g. their mother or father were going through their own difficulties, but loved them very much.
